3 cups water
2 Tb butter
1 med carrot, 1 small onion, 1 Tb minced garlic, 1 med stalk celery, 1 tsp minced basil
2 Tb better than boullion chicken base
1/4 cup pinot grigio
1/2 cup hevy cream
2 cups shredded cheddar
1 cup cheese curls crushed
1 tsp paprika
in a heavy pan melt the butter
sweat the vegetables and herbs
deglaze with the wine
add water and chicken base
simmer until pasta is tender
drain off excess liquid
stir in cheese and cream
top with crushed curls and paprika
bake in pan at 375 for 20 minutes
